GLN support has been added to the Distributor Profile edit page (M45) and Distributor Directory (M86). On form submission, GLN numbers are validated to insure conformity to the GLN check digit specification. On the Distributor Directory, GLN numbers are also checked for uniqueness within a territory. If a Distributor is a branch and a parent GLN number exists, the parent GLN number will display as a read only field. Users can click the “what’s this” link to learn more about the GS1 GLN initiative in general. The search center has also been updated to allow GLN searches. Note, the search can be based on just the first six characters of the GLN which is the company prefix. This will allow all locations of a specific company to be conveniently listed together.
