Tomorrow morning an update to the
Opportunity Pipeline application will be released. This new version changes how a No Sale is recorded such that the
reason for "No Sale" is separated from the "Stage".
I expect that the user impact
resulting from this change will be minimal, but I could be wrong. In any case, please look over the
information below and let me know if you have any questions, comments or
concerns by this afternoon.
Later this month, the broker version
of Opportunity Pipeline will be enhanced to allow MFR specific No Sale Reason
codes to be selected when an opportunity is for a MFR with such a requirement
(Nestle for example).
Before this change, all of the
"No Sale" reasons where mixed in with the "Stages" in the
stage drop down.

After this change, there will be two
drop downs one for "Stage" which will have a single "No
Sale" seletion and one for "Reason" which will have the
reasons. The "Reason" drop
down will be required when a stage of "No Sale" is selected.

For each individual client all of
the Opportunity Pipeline "No Sale Stages" which appeared in the Stage
drop down will be merged into the list of "No Sale Reasons" that are
used for interactions (sales calls). No
data will be lost, but the list of possible reasons for a "No Sale"
may be increased.
Below are screen shots of what the
Edit Opportunity and Change Opportunity Status dialog boxes will look like
after the change.
This change will affect all clients
(Manufacturer and Broker).
In addition to this the visible
screen changes, the import and export file formats will be altered as well to
include the opportunity_nosale_reason (and opportunity_nosale_reasoncode) for
"No Sale" opportunities.
