The FSLibrary Territory Manager
module (M68) has been changed to afford the ability to designate each territory
as appropriate for Operator and/or Distributor customer types and support for a
concept called "Shadow Groups"
Customer Type
The Customer Type designations are
part of a multi-step effort to ensure that only relevant information is
displayed. For example the distributor
and operator portfolios start out with a list of the complete territory
hierarchy based. A future change will
allow this applications to only display the hierarchy that is relevant for
managing distributors and/or operators.
This change allows us to begin to more accurately profile our sales
territories.

The values are changed on the
details page. The default for all
territories is Operator and Distributor.
All of our existing territories are set to Operator and Distributor
Territory Details Page

The search center allows search by
customer type. The default is to show
all territories regardless of the customer types selected.

Shadow Groups
A Territory Shadow Group is a group
manager group which includes all members of the Territory's Management Team and
Additional Team Members. The Primary
Manager of the Territory is the Shadow Group's Group Leader in Group
Manager. When when the shadow group is
enabled for a territory, a "Shadow" of it appears in Group
manager. This shadow group can be used
for any task that requires a group like granting permissions.
Shadow Groups are available for all
territoires except Manufacturer Local
Market Territories. There is no
ETA for supporting shadow groups for Manufacturer Local Market Territories.

Group Manager Members Page
The Group Manager Members page can
be used to add and remove members of the Territory Additional Team Members
list. Note that while it appears as if
you can remove the special role members of the team (Primary Manager, Secondary
Manager, etc...) they will not be removed.

Territory Shadow Groups are the
first phase of an effort to connect many of our "groupish" concepts
including SME Micro-sites and Level 3 managed access in a manner that
simplifies maintaining and using the Food Service CRM platform. Stay tuned...
